Welcome to the second edition of Three Thing Thursday! Hope you’ve all had a great week.
I’ve been back in the office working with our players installing our system. Our players finished summer conditioning yesterday with the conditioning test and now have a few days off before we start training camp next week.
Here’s what caught my attention this week:
- Instagram Feed I’m ashamed to say I like:
@moronsdoingthings
This is pretty self-explanitory. If you really want to feel like a terrible person, double-down by following @kidsgettinghurt.
I’m so ashamed.
- Article that blew my mind:
This article in the San Francisco Gate was sent to me by our TE coach, Coach Best. Before coming to Rice, I coached at Stanford. There’s a lot of great cancer research at Stanford, so much so that one the researchers once told our head coach that they’re incredibly close to finding a cure, but that the last few steps could take days or could take years. They just don’t know. This article isn’t about a cure, but the science of using magnetic wires in the bloodstream to catch tumor cells is really cool and could help detect cancer earlier than ever.
- Best thing I saw/heard/read this week:
Look what greeted my on my return from vacation: If you’ve visited us previously, you know we have a great facility, but it was plain. That’s all changing this week. It’s not quite finished, but you can see where we’re going with the new branding and decor. You’re all invited down to check it out this fall.
That’s it. Talk to you next week from the first day of training camp!
